Lip Filler Q&A

Why should I consider getting lip fillers?

If you’ve ever been self-conscious about your lips, don’t worry we’ve all been there! Whether you just want a quick natural plump or dying for some ZEN-licious lips, dermal filler injections are a great option for most patients.

Hyaluronic acid-containing dermal fillers are a great way to:

  • Enhance lip volume
  • Improve lip symmetry
  • Diminish vertical lip lines
  • Plump thinning lips

The best part about fillers is that, if needed, they can be dissolved with Hylenex and your natural lips will return.

Which lip filler is right for me?

As years pass by, the options for lip fillers have expanded and improved but we know that choosing which one is best could be daunting. We love giving our patients the best options, so here at Zen Aesthetics we partner with the best brands for your lip filler treatment.

What will my appointment look like?

For any first-time patient getting lip fillers, please make sure to arrive 10-15 minutes early to provide enough time for any missing paperwork and complete patient check-in. Dr. Joni will take the time to discuss each patient’s dream goal and how that can be achieved while still providing the most natural results.

If you're worried about any pain, rest assured we’ve got that covered. A numbing cream is always applied to the lip area for at least 20-30 minutes in order to ensure that any discomfort is kept to a minimum. We also treat patients with an ice pack if needed to decrease swelling that may be caused by the injections.

What to expect after your treatment?

You can expect some swelling in your lips after the procedure. You may also notice some small red spots where the needles were injected into your lips. Bruising around the lips is another common side effect, which may last about a week.

Remember that this isn’t a permanent fix, so as your body metabolizes the dermal filler, it is recommended that you follow-up every 6-12 months to keep those lips looking plump!
