Lash Extensions Q&A

Eyelash extensionsWhat types of lash extensions are available?

Dr. Jefferson and the team at Zen Aesthetics have multiple ways they can enhance the look of your lashes with extensions:

Classic eyelash extensions
Classic extensions use lashes shaped like your natural lashes to fill out your lash line. This option applies single lashes to your existing lashes, giving you a full, beautiful set of lashes that still looks natural.

Volume eyelash extensions
But if you’re looking for something a little more dramatic, don’t worry. We also offer volume extensions. In this case, rather than applying individual eyelash extensions to your eyelashes, they apply a fan of multiple lashes to the individual natural lash. This gives you a way to not only double your number of lashes but also to multiply them by the number of lashes on each volume extension. This delivers a glamorous, dramatic effect.

Hybrid eyelash extensions
What if you want to be somewhere in the middle? If you’re looking for more volume than a classic eyelash extension can deliver, but you’re not interested in the full drama of volume lashes, Sheena can blend the two, giving you hybrid lashes.

What should I expect during a lash extension appointment?

You’ll recline on a comfortable treatment table during your 60-75 minute appointment. Your technician removes any makeup and cleanses the eye area. They apply the extensions precisely to make them look as natural as possible. You’ll feel slight tugging and light pinching at times as the extensions are combed and trimmed.

Your results are immediate. You don’t have to schedule any downtime following your eyelash extension application, but do avoid heavy sweating for the first 24 hours post-procedure.

How do I take care of my lash extensions?

To make your lashes last as long as possible, it’s important to properly care for them. For the first 24 hours after your extensions are placed, avoid water. Then, keep them looking their best by:

  • Avoiding oil-based cleansers and products
  • Avoiding curling them
  • Using a lash comb to gently separate them as needed
  • Avoiding picking at them
  • Avoiding waterproof products because they’re hard to remove
